Rebecca started dancing at the age of 3 with Susan Nash and soon developed a love for dance. As she progressed and began assisting in the nursery class, she found her passion for teaching. Rebecca has trained with the Bristol College of Dancing gaining her DDI's (Diploma of Dance Instruction) in Ballet, Tap and Modern and is now working towards her DDE's (Diploma of Dance Education) in all three genres.
We follow the ISTD syllabus in both Ballet and Tap. We welcome children from the age of 2 1/2 upwards and boast an excellant exam pass rate. We strive to excite, educate and inspire the children whilst they enjoy their classes.
The Little Star's Ballet Class aims to introduce children to dance in a fun and enjoyable way. Each week we follow a theme with music that the children are familiar with, they are also taught the first steps of tap which they all look forward to.
The Junior Jazz class is a fun and exciting class for children aged 7-11. A free warm-up and routine is taught every couple of weeks. We have recently used music from High School Musical and music from the charts. We use the jazz style of dance along with Modern and Hip-hop to give it a free and up-beat feel for children.
The adult dance/exercise, ballet and tap class is a good way of exercising in a social environment. At the beginning of the dance class an aerobic warm-up is done for 15 minutes and then a different routine is taught every 2 -3 weeks with a whole variety of music ranging from the charts to musicals. For the Tap Class, the syllabus is taught from Grade 1 and again in a relaxed way with some free work to include a dance routine. The ballet class follows the ISTD syllabus but is taught in a relaxed way using different pieces of classical music.
